Instant Pot Mac & Cheese

Posted on

Yep, I’m totally on the instant pot bandwagon & it lives up to all the hype y’all!! It’s like the lazy man’s crock pot! Ok, so here is my recipe that I only made a few changes to from This Old Gal’s Mac & Cheese recipe!

Instant Pot Mac & Cheese:

  1. 16oz box of pasta, any short noodle will work!
  2. 4 cups of water
  3. 4 T of butter
  4. 1/2 cup of cream, 1/2 & 1/2, or milk!
  5. 2 cups of any type of cheese your family likes!
  6. 1/2 t of salt, pepper to taste

Combine your 4 cups of water, box of pasta, 4 T of butter and salt & pepper in your Instant Pot. Lock lid & set to manual for 4 minutes.  Once it’s done, let pressure go down naturally for about 1-4 minutes then quick release. Turn instant pot to sauté, stir, & add your milk and cheese ( you  can also add cooked bacon & any other seasonings you have (garlic, cayenne) to your pasta! Stir everything together while the cheese sauce gets thicker (only takes a couple of minutes), then serve! You might want to try and make sure there’s enough salt & pepper for your family’s liking! You can also add a small squeeze of mustard to enhance the cheddar flavor! 😉

Leave a comment if you try it and how it was!!
